Chris Callen - President
Chris is the founding President of the HLAA.
Chris practised as a liquor licensing and gaming lawyer in NSW for over 20 years. He was in-house lawyer at the AHA NSW and a consultant to the Association over a period of 7 years. He also operated his own legal practice at that time.
Chris was the National Compliance Manager - Alcohol at Coca-Cola Amatil from 2011- 2021. During this time he advised the company on Excise, Customs and liquor licensing matters and was the principal contact with the Australian Taxation Office and Borderforce.
He now operates 37 Percent Advisory which assists liquor importers and manufacturers (such as breweries and distilleries), wholesalers, bonded storage facilities and retailers on matters involving regulatory compliance with Excise, Customs and liquor licensing requirements.

Kim Stapleton - Director
Kim is a consultant to JDK Legal in NSW. He was a founding partner of the firm.
Kim has had a long and extensive career in the liquor and gaming industries.
Kim also has a significant property practice and has been involved in many major hotel transactions in NSW over the past 10 years.
He has also advised industry associations on prospective changes to legislation affecting the industry.

Craig Murray - Director
Craig is the Principal of CDM Lawyers in NSW.
Craig was a senior licensing prosecutor for a number of years. He was responsible for training licensing police and OLGR inspectors on licensing law and procedures. He regularly appeared in the Licensing Court of NSW and the Liquor Administration Board.
His current practice involved criminal matters, liquor licensing matters and representing licensed premises in matters involving regulators.

Tony Johnston - Director
Tony is a partner at Pigott Stinson in NSW.
He has an extensive practice in the Registered Clubs industry.
He also represents wineries, gaming machine manufacturers, hotels and resorts and liquor manufacturers and retailers.
